Of course, this can all be solved by reading the manual, but calculator manuals are 100+ pages and not very interesting reads. You might get a better deal for your dollar buy purchasing a calculator from one of the other competing brands (such as Casio), but because they are not widely used you will have some compatibility issues with your teacher or professor, who most likely knows only how to teach you to use Texas Instrument's TI-series of calculators. Although it comes short of the TI-89 in many features, it's overall a great piece of equipment though a little overpriced.
